Hello everyone!
The Wheel of Fortune assigned me to write for the “history” rubric for my good friend Sollam’s Weekly Journal. Without much thinking, a few things popped into my consciousness. But to start off, I want to share with you an experience I had in eRepublik hundreds of eDays ago. It was long before “restarting” my account but I still have an archive of eRepublik stuff. I opened it and the first thing that drew my attention was a file named “Airstrike”.
The very first airstrike.
It turned out that we, Bulgarians, were the first nation to ever use this tactic on eRepublik.
A few articles about it were written back then but I want to tell you the story from my own perspective.
It was the Summer of 2012.
August 12, 2012, to be precise.
*Bulgarian perspective*
To cut it short, eBulgaria had to attack eArgentina. In order to do so we had to launch an airstrike on eBolivia, using her as bridgehead for our following attack on eArgentina.
The beginning was exciting for all of us. We charged into battle together. Known and unknown fought side by side against the Gauchos. The fury was caused by the fact that is our first time to set foot on South American soil.
The Argentinians of course were aware of our plans and had expected us. But how did this happen?
Back then we had a president, known to us as “the elf”, although he had called himself Flausino. And this very person hinted about our appetite for Patagonia long before coming in charge of eBulgaria. This happened thanks to the article “Ой тигре, тигре… ще ставаш ли президент?”.
Now for those of you who have no idea what this means – it is the lyrics of a famous song by Радо Шишарката (Rado the fir cone). Now for article, it translates to:
“Hey tiger, tiger… are you gonna be a president?”.
As a keen fan of Rado’s work, I must note that the original lyrics are a bit different.
“Hey, tiger, tiger, have you got money,
have you got money, stupid women.”
Anyhow, to here with the lyrical deviation.
Almost immediately more articles showed up in the eBulgarian press.

Briefly said – WAR, WAR, WAR IS IN THE AIR!
On the 12th of August, 2012 we set our combat boots on “The New World”.

Later on, our former president Flausino published an article, where he promised an “X” amount of gold to the congressman that proposes a law to declare eArgentina as Natural Enemy.
His articles no longer exist so I will provide screenshots instead. Fastest was Yamahata (this used to be his username back then).
But the Argentinians were a few seconds faster than us!

The euphoria, caused by this invasion, reigned over us!
